Baked Pasta (Casserole)

I have never ever made baked pasta before. However, I am fascinated with one dish meals and I just had to try it.  Firstly, I boiled the pasta to al dante and drained. Then I pre-heat my sauce and made my sauce.  After that, I threw the pasta into the sauce and mixed it thoroughly and pour 1/2 of it into the casserole dish, sprinkle sauteed ham and cheese over it, pour in the other 1/2 of the pasta and sprinkle cheese on the top. Lastly, I baked it.  One word - YUMMY!!!  Here's a photo of our baked pasta.

Since it was a hit, I made this again for the potluck and it was a hit again...yippee!!!

Whistling Pasta

Remember when I was talking about the whistling pasta the other day...my little Price kept asking me to cook it for him and his sister and I finally got my DH to buy some Penne pasta and we made this for dinner yesterday. My little Prince stood at the gate between the kitchen and the living room and watched me cooked it. So, I became his "Master Chef" for the day as he puts it.  He wanted the creamy pasta instead of the tomato base ones. He also told me that he wanted ham, cheese, this and that in his whistling pasta. My little Prince is growing up... *teary eyes*

So, here's a photo of our humble dinner...

What will my little Prince wants for dinner tomorrow?

Till then...tadaa!!!

Spaghetti in Creamy Sauce

My little Prince is growing up and these days, he will come up with a list of things he wants for lunch or dinner :) In the late afternoon, he was asking his sister if they should have the whistling pasta for dinner tonite.  He called the penne pasta as the whistling pasta as he found out that he could whistle with it..ha!ha! However, we were out of penne pasta. So, I told him that we will become Cow-boys & Cow-girls tonite and have lasso pasta...ha!ha!....that's spaghetti to us adults.  He was a little disappointed but since I had time, I played Cowboys and Red Indians with him and that worked...phew!!!

I made a simple pasta for dinner as I was kind of down...might have caught a cold or something. I just boiled the pasta and while it was boiling, I chopped some garlic, ham, cauliflower (must hide this babies or my 2 precious will not eat it) and got ready the mixed herbs, thickened cream and cheese. Made dinner within 30 mins...wohoo!!  Here's a photo of our dinner:

Addio fino alla prossima volta!!!

Pasta Milano & Pasta ala Asian Style

There's a pasta sale at our local super mart and we bought all sorts of pasta...penne, fusilli, tortiglioni, farfelle and macaroni. Normally, I will do my own fresh pasta from scratch. But, with school and family, I ended up buying the dry pasta...easy peasy!!! My other half wanted me to whip out pasta milano but my little princes does not like anything with cream.  Therefore, in the end, I had to cook 2 different types of pasta to satisfied my whole family.  Here's a photo of the Pasta Milano and Pasta Ala Asian Style.

That's all for now....going to the fair tomorrow if it doesn't rain...
Happy weekend!!!

Simple Tomato Pasta with Cheese

I am trying to introduce pasta to my 2 kiddos as they prefer to eat chow mien, soup noodles and other Asian stuff.  Hence, today I made a simple tomato pasta with cheese as my eldest wanted to try macaroni and cheese after watching Barney...ha!ha! So, I quickly whipped out this simple 1-dish meal for my kiddos' lunch.  I just saute some garlic and onions with olive oil. Then I threw in some minced chicken meat, add in tomato sauce and worcestershire sauce and lastly the cooked pasta and some seasonings. Then I asked my eldest to do the finishing touch - sprinkle some cheese onto the pasta.  Here's a photo of my son's Tomato Pasta with Cheese:

I am really pleased as my darling son ate the whole bowl...now....onwards to introducing him to another new dish....H A P P Y!!!!
